It is highly recommended to always use the most recent driver version available. Do not forget to check with our site as often as possible in order to stay updated on the latest drivers, software and games. Try to set a system restore point before installing a device driver. This will help if you installed a wrong driver. Problems can arise when your hardware device is too old or not supported any longer.
I just discovered a really strange (at least for me!) fact. I use wireless just with my notebook so i keep it off most of the time.and when it was off i saw those entries in logs: Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 000D3AFF6801 Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 000D3AFF6802 Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 000D3AFF6803.
Dir-655 Driver For Mac Os
Access denied to wireless system with MAC address 000D3AFF6809.what happened?? Was wireless really off? Also, i checked under traffic statistics and no wireless data have been transmitted after my last poweroff (2days ago). Reset the router back to factory defaults. Try it again. Use the pin hole in the rear of the router to do it with power on for 40 secs.
Then unplug the power wait 20 secs then plugin the power again. » Admin blank In setup/wireless settings/manual Make sure you use WPA2 AES Auto: 20/40, Auto Channel SSID create one so you know what network to connect to. Passcode create one so you can login to your wireless network.
In the setup/network settings you should see all nodes connected to the router. You can reserve the wireless IP for your device so it always connects at that IP address which is a good idea to do. See what happens when you do the above again. If it still does it I have some other steps you can try.
I've resetted the router + upgraded to the last firmware 1.22.after few minutes i got the same logs showing different mac addresses trying to connect to my router.but wireless radio was OFF! Also, the led for the wireless just glowed a little for less than one second and then nothing more, even if i was seeing in realtime logs.! I also contacted dlink support who told me almost the same as i did, like reset etc. And when i told them i already did it they said to call them by phone. Which is a thing i will do even if i am not american or english, simply because i already called the support in my country but they came up with 'if warranty is 'alive' then break the router and send it back we will replace it' (i swear they told me nothing but these words).!!! And no i am not sharing my router with anyone. An interesting thing is that i tried to check myself if my network was active, using wirelessmon and other tools like that but i couldnt find anything.
You can revert back to the other firmwares like 1.11. If it still does the same then, then you know it's the router. Rule everything out before your next move. Download firmware 1.11 Install it Basic Wireless setup Test the Laptop Make sure the Laptop NIC is working. Uninstall the driver for the wireless laptop. Then reinstall if Windows OS can't find the driver.
Now if this works then you're okay. But you can got to rule everything out. Before your next move.
Yes you can buy another router and wireless card for your laptop. To play it safe but that's your last resort. Guys this is crazy. Well I just shutdown mine for now.
I am getting what this poster is getting, but I see the wireless link showing up and down movement. This is bad for me and I know the wife will complain again! I've switched over to DD-WRT wireless turbo high power G bla, bla for now. Don't know how that is so stable it can be on for 24/7 and never once drop a connection. It only has one 4dBi ANT and signal can reach 3 large rooms on the main floor and on the second it's the same and it's still showing excellent. DIR-655 shows random signal. I think in time of usage it fades the signal.
The Trendent cheap-o Wireless N Router works best at 20Hz not 20/40Hz, still haven't figure that one out yet. Oh well hope everyone get his or hers working right.
